@DynastyPercussion And the Yamaha RD500 (RZ500) is a four cylinder V4-engine.
Skater3z3b
@DynastyPercussion yes the yamaha banshee is a 350cc twin cylinder two stroke

@samoht1977 Have fun raping our environment!
madjimms
@samoht1977 Well that's good, too many nasty combustion engines anyway.
samoht1977
@madjimms Uhm... no. I'm actually headed to electric engines and cars ;)
madjimms
@samoht1977 Do you know of any good 2SE's that have a separate oil system? Something that's around 2-10hp
samoht1977
@madjimms @madjimms The Wankel engine has got its own lubrication system. Anyway, due to the nature of the engine, its lifespan is a little shorter than 4SE - considering the tremendous power it puts out though, I think it's quite a fair price to pay. As you can see, that old proverb kicks right in: if you burn the candles at both ends, you'll have twice the light at half the burning time...

@samoht1977 Mazda rotary engines in the RX-8 seem to not burn any oil at this point. the older engines did.

show me more..nice...simple explanation...

Is there such a thing as a "dual 2-stroke engine"?, which is basically kinda of like a v-twin but in a two stroke format.
samoht1977
@madjimms Well... I'm no mechanical engineer, but as far as I know, the answer is NO.
danthemanzizzle
too bad more people dont watch the internet O_o
madjimms
@samoht1977 But theoretically you could design a 2SE that didn't burn oil, correct?
samoht1977
@madjimms again, 2SE is designed to run so. It's more fast but less powerful than 4SE. As you said, the design of 2SE is less complex than 4SE. Actually there are some scooters that run on unleaded, but you have to supply oil via a separate tank - the engine itself provides the mixture.

@aydinburton93 so make the exaust long enough so that the engine hot gasses cool down when they arrive trough the silecer....
215alessio
@aydinburton93 The First and most important thing: The constructors design is the most reliable. and also the cheapest... If you try to modify yourself keep in mind thet it can cost reliability. how you make it to shore when the engine blocks?Make it more queter you can with a 1 inch tube with alot of holes in the sidewallsput rockwool arond and then a larger tube over all. Now you have a silencer!Keep in mind that the silencer can burn if the rockwool gets to much oil and heat
madjimms
@samoht1977 Did you even listen to what I was saying?I know a 2 stroke burns oil & I know why. But there should be no reason to burn the oil that lubricates it. Cheap designs maybe.....
samoht1977
@madjimms a 4SE has crankshaft constantly bathing in oil. A 2SE has lesser parts - actually you get rid of valves, oil pump and a lot of other things, but you still have to lubricate the piston and crankshaft - so you add oil to the fuel. 2SE are faster, but burns a lot of fuel and get hot rapidly. Furthermore they're more polluting, because you burn oil along with fuel and you have not a good stoichiometric control (can't vary time for valves opening and closing, and so on).
aydinburton93
@215alessio hey, i have a 2 stroke boat motor and was wondering do you have any tips on getting more power out of them? and making them quieter?
madjimms
I understand how a 2 stroke works, but why intake air/gas/oil from the crankshaft area & not a separate area where the oil doesn't have to be burned?
clokedbigman
@run0hard9 because they are fuel hogs
phattacorider
@run0hard9Probably because they generate lots of heat. Also, 2-stroke engines need the oil mixed with the fuel, and you'd need to mix just the right amount of each. A lot of people don't know how much oil to add to fuel, and it's not basic engine oil either.
run0hard9
How come 2 stroke engines aren't common in vehicles?
215alessio
Nice video.2 troke engines are auwesome, we love to modify them they have alot of power and souplesse. But they have a dark side: theyr exaust gases are very poisoned due to the synthetic oil and unburned benzine they spit out

nice informational video!!
